Aileen was very organized and professional. Seeing multiple different parts of the infectious disease side of the pharmacy has been a great learning experience. Spending time at the HIV clinic, rounding with doctors, seeing the micro lab, and working with the infectious disease pharmacist was all very beneficial and I would recommend it to any students down the line.
Brief bio or Site description
I earned my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Pharmacy in 2011. I completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, followed by a PGY-2 Residency in Infectious Diseases at Lee Health. In 2013, I launched Martin Health’s first Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, which I continue to lead today. This program has become a cornerstone of our clinical pharmacy services, promoting safe and effective antimicrobial use across the health system. Cleveland Clinic Martin Health is a three-hospital community health system located along Florida’s Treasure Coast. The system includes Tradition Hospital, Martin North Hospital, and Martin South Hospital, and offers a wide range of acute care services. With a strong focus on patient-centered care and clinical excellence, Martin Health provides pharmacy students with a dynamic learning environment that blends community-based practice with advanced clinical exposure.
What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
At Cleveland Clinic Martin North, we believe students learn best through real-world experiences and active participation in patient care. Our goal is to help students build confidence, develop clinical skills, and understand the important role pharmacists play on the healthcare team.
What is a fun fact about you or the site?
At Martin North Hospital, nearly 40% of our Clinical Pharmacy team are former residents—many trained right here! It’s a testament to the supportive learning environment and strong mentorship culture that keeps talent growing and staying within our system.
