“Anthony has followed many patients while on his HIPPE rotation here. One patient he went above and beyond for in his care. The Case Manager for this patient wanted to make sure he was recognized for his efforts. The patient that Anthony advocated for was unable to communicate verbally. Anthony reviewed the notes from our Physical Therapist and noticed the patient was showing signs of pain with therapy. We contacted the team and reminded them to ask the nurse to pre-medicate him with Acetaminophen prior to his therapy sessions to see if we can reduce his pain during his therapy sessions.”
What was your favorite part of this rotation?
I had a great preceptor and I was able to work with critical patients with a broad range of disease states.
What advice do you have for pharmacy students preparing for rotations?
Relax. The purpose of rotations is to learn and to make connections. Approach them with a good attitude.
What are your plans after graduation?
I would like to open a compounding pharmacy.
