St. Joseph’s Hospital
Bailey Constantine, PharmD, BCEMP, BCCCP, BCPS

The student had this to say about Dr. Constantine:
“Bailey was an incredible preceptor! She taught me so much not only through topic discussions and questions I had, but also kept me involved in the day-to-day activities of an emergency medicine pharmacist with traumas, strokes, cardiac arrests, and intubations! I felt very comfortable in the setting of the ER and the culture there because Bailey made sure to keep me included in everything. She is extremely outgoing and that made it very easy to approach her about questions during a stressful moment in the day and she would answer any questions I had! I truly cannot say enough good things about the entire Emergency Medicine Pharmacist Team!”
Brief bio or Site description
I graduated from Purdue University College of Pharmacy in 2016. I completed my PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency at Orlando Reginal Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. After residency I moved to Tampa and began working in the Emergency Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Our emergency medicine pharmacists are an integral part of the emergency medicine team, and we are highly involved in precepting students and residents, research, and direct patient care.
What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
My teaching philosophy was inspired by my residency preceptors’ passion for teaching, which transformed my view of education. Initially, I saw teaching as a one-size-fits-all activity, but my preceptors showed me that teaching extends beyond the classroom. Learning occurs during patient case discussions, critical care rounds, and even trauma alerts. They instilled in me both clinical knowledge and professional qualities that I now strive to pass on to others. As a preceptor, I recognize that each resident has a unique learning style, so I tailor my teaching using the VARK model to ensure effective learning through visual aids, podcasts, literature, and hands-on experiences. My goal is for learners to leave my rotation feeling confident in their clinical abilities. I aim to be a mentor even after the learning experience ends, fostering a supportive environment where residents and students can continue to grow and feel inspired, just as I was inspired by my own preceptors.
What is a fun fact about you or the site?
