The student had this to say about Dr. Jimenez:

“This preceptor went above and beyond to teach multiple students and genuinely cares about his patients and the profession of pharmacy. For the site, I had the most amazing experience and I loved going to my site for the past 24 weeks.”

What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
The AdventHealth Orlando Department of Clinical Pharmacy strives to improve patient outcomes by ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmacotherapy through collaborative practice with nursing and other healthcare providers involved in the medical team. For many students, the biggest challenge usually entails translating the vast knowledge taught during didactic teaching into real-life practice. My role as a preceptor is to aid in this transition by instilling confidence and effective evidence-based evaluation into future pharmacy practitioners to advance patient care. During rotations, students are integral in helping supplement many of the clinical pharmacy services provided to our patients and are a welcomed addition to our multidisciplinary care teams.

What is a fun fact about you or the site?
AdventHealth Orlando is a 1368 bed comprehensive quaternary care mixed academic/private practice referral center. We offer a wide variety of rotational and specialized experiences including critical care, pulmonary hypertension, neurology, oncology, infectious diseases, emergency medicine, cardiology (including ECMO), and so much more. Our pharmacy team is very dedicated and is always looking for ways to further expand our clinical services and collaborative practices.
