The site offers a vast diversity of Pharmacy departments that allow practice in all of the fields we’ve learned this year. Mr Russo and his pharmacists did their best to improve skills and pharmacy knowledge most important for me going forward as a learner.
Brief bio or Site description
Hobbs Pharmacy is a long standing family owned independent pharmacy. We offer a wide variety of services that create a special environment for students to learn. We have traditional retail, long term care and compounding departments. In addition we offer MTM, compliance packaging and other counseling opportunities for students during their rotations. We feel blessed to be able to have students come through our site and we try to compliment the education they received in the classroom.
What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
We believe in exposing students to as many different aspects of community pharmacy as we can. We offer traditional retail, compounding and long term care. We expose them to and have discussions about different practice settings and the opportunities and challenges of each. We want to help prepare them to make informed choices of where they hope to practice when they graduate.
What is a fun fact about you or the site?
Hobbs Pharmacy has been in business for over 60 years, it was established in 1964. Mr Hobbs started the Pharmacy to serve the astronauts and engineers working at the Space Center. We have even compounded “Space Sickness” capsules that were used aboard the Space Shuttle.
