Brief bio or Site description
I precept the Internal Medicine rotation and Infectious Disease elective rotation at Adventhealth Winter Park Hospital in Winter Park, Florida. I am a proud double gator; I’ve obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition and minored in the Spanish language, and graduated with my Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the UF College of Pharmacy Orlando campus in 2017. Upon graduating, I completed my PGY1 Residency at Adventhealth Altamonte, then transitioned to Adventhealth Winter Park Hospital where I currently practice. Adventhealth Winter Park is a 342-bed community hospital dedicated to serving Central Florida and beyond with high-quality, compassionate care. Our services include orthopedics, stroke care, critical care, emergency medicine, and antimicrobial stewardship, alongside a family medicine residency program. In 2018, we launched an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and accept two Residents annually.
What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
I really focus on layered learning, aligning with students’ career goals, and fostering open communication. I emphasize understanding the “why” behind pharmacotherapy and actively seek feedback to continuously improve the learning experience. My goal is to develop confident, compassionate student pharmacist professionals ready to impact patient care.
What is a fun fact about you or the site?
I am a proud HIV Pharmacist credentialed by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. I took an elective on HIV pharmacotherapy back when I was a student gator at the UF College of Pharmacy back in 2017, which sparked my passion in this area of practice. I started an antiretroviral therapy stewardship program pilot at my campus site at Adventhealth Winter Park this year.
