The preceptor had this to say about Josiah:
Community IPPE
Josiah was an excellent student who strived to look for additional opportunities to learn as a pharmacist. He took initiative to learn our processes and help the team as much as he can. He sought out additional opportunities, such as shadowing hospital med history technicians and hospital pharmacists to learn more about pharmacy. He fit in well with the team.
What was your favorite part of this rotation?
My favorite part would have to be providing med to beds delivery/counseling and learning the managerial roles of pharmacists in independent outpatient settings.
What advice do you have for pharmacy students preparing for rotations?
Preparing for rotations can be stressful so plan early. Bring a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and professionalism in all you do. Never be afraid to admit you don’t know the answer to something. Most importantly, be honest and use every experience as a learning opportunity. You will do great!
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation include pursuing post-graduate education, relocating, exploring different areas of pharmacy and hopefully landing a role in a clinical setting. My interests grow further as I go into the curriculum.
What is a fun fact about you?
A fun fact about me is that I have eleven nieces and nephews.
