The preceptor had this to say about Katie:
CIPPE
Katie has a strong foundation in community practice and has been an invaluable help to our team during her CIPPE rotation. She quickly adapted to our systems and processes.
What was your favorite part of this rotation?
Learning all about different medications and learning how a different pharmacy runs with a different work flow.
What advice do you have for pharmacy students preparing for rotations?
Definitely read up on Top 200 because preceptors tend to ask lots of questions about these drugs and knowing certain drug classes can help you learn about side effects and counseling points. Whether you have community experience or not it is important to go into a rotation with an open mind and be ready to learn something. Every pharmacy is different and there is always something to learn as long as you engage yourself. You will get out of it what you put in!
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to pursue a residency in emergency medicine or go into community pharmacy.
What is a fun fact about you?
I did gymnastics for 8 years and I was a state champion in 2014.
