Student Spotlight
This student is featured for exemplary work during experiential education.
The preceptor had this to say about Lindsey:
Lakewood Ranch Medical Center HIPPE
“Lindsey was a phenomenal student! We cannot say enough good things about her! She is a very pleasant, energetic, and thorough student. She has an outstanding personality which makes it easy for her to mesh well with everyone. Lindsey was involved in many activities that are usually reserved for APPE students (skills fair, drug presentations, patient counseling, patient information handouts, etc). She has a natural thirst to learn and do well. We highly recommend her for the Student Spotlight award!”
What was your favorite part of this rotation?
“My favorite part of this rotation was being able to start our mornings off at huddle and then head upstairs to collect medication histories from patients. Being able to work directly with patients and practice the skills we’ve been developing at school was so rewarding and really allowed us to make a difference in patients’ treatment plans!”
What advice do you have for pharmacy students preparing for rotations?
“Come prepared with questions and be willing to learn! Over time I developed a list of questions that I love to ask pharmacists and other healthcare workers that I had the opportunity to interact with on the inter-professional team within the hospital! Always try to lend a hand where you can and be willing to go the extra mile with asking for more projects because I was able to learn so much from this!”
What are your plans after graduation?
“After graduation, I hope to work in an environment where I can have an administrative role over a team and utilize my clinical knowledge to help patients be healthy!”
What is a fun fact about you?
“I’ve wanted to be a pharmacist since the second grade!
