MCKenzie

The preceptor had this to say about MacKenzie:

General Medicine

MacKenzie has gone above and beyond throughout this rotation in multiple areas. This includes seamlessly integrating herself with the unit staff and truly becoming part of the health-care team as well as taking on added responsibilities including creating a data sheet of all of our units hypoglycemic events to allow for analysis and prevention of future events.

What was your favorite part of this rotation?

“I really loved how integrated I was on the units of the hospital I rounded in. My preceptor was an amazing mentor and allowed me to become a resource for the floor. I loved that I became friendly with the team and managed the unit as a pharmacist would with the guidance of my preceptor.”

What advice do you have for pharmacy students preparing for rotations?

“I think it is really important to come motivated and excited to learn. If you come in with a good mindset, it puts you in the best position to succeed and other team members and preceptors can see that.”

What are your plans after graduation?

“I want to start with a PGY1 residency. I love Critical Care and Emergency Medicine and want to try for a PGY2 in the future. After my General Medicine rotation, I would also love working there!

What is a fun fact about you?

” I love adrenaline seeking and have been sky-diving, cliff jumping, and mountain climbing! “
