The student had this to say about Dr. Paz:
Dr. Paz is an amazing mentor and truly wants her students to succeed in reaching their goals. She recognized areas that I needed more support in and encouraged me to grow and explore. She is very detailed in her work and always points out the important points for a pharmacist to check. I have learned so much from her!

What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
My teaching philosophy is student-centered and experiential. At the beginning of each rotation, I invest time to meet with each student one-to-one to gain a deep understanding of their unique background, pharmacotherapeutic interests, and career goals. Together, we map out an immersive, hands-on learning experience that is narrowly tailored to their journey, empowers them to practice at the peak of their scope, and—in stepping out of their comfort zone—meaningfully contribute to real-world clinical services. Under my guidance, students collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, including physicians, specialists, nurse practitioners, social workers, and more. They gain invaluable experience in critically evaluating medication therapy regimens and are challenged to develop evidence-based interventions. As a preceptor, I have the unparalleled opportunity to help students bridge the gap between theory and practice. I am excited to continue accelerating the growth and development of pre-professionals into impactful healthcare providers.
