The preceptor had this to say about Nicole:
Baya Pharmacy – CIPPE
The student demonstrated outstanding growth and confidence in patient counseling during her rotation. She took initiative in engaging with patients, asking insightful questions, and providing clear, empathetic education on medications and over-the-counter products. Her ability to communicate effectively, build trust, and tailor information to each patient’s needs was impressive—especially for a student early in her pharmacy training. Her commitment to patient-centered care truly stood out and made a meaningful impact in the community setting.
What was your favorite part of this rotation?
My favorite part of my CIPPE experience was getting to truly connect with patients. I loved having the chance to counsel them on various topics and seeing how a small conversation can make a huge impact on their care. Another highlight for me was experiencing the day-to-day of an independent pharmacy. It was eye-opening to see the close relationships built between patients and the pharmacy staff, while getting to experience the unique way the pharmacy team worked together to support their community.
What advice do you have for pharmacy students preparing for rotations?
My advice to incoming students is to go into your CIPPE with an open mind and be willing to try new things. Even if something feels unfamiliar at first, give it your best effort, and remember that pharmacy is a small world, you never know who you’ll meet or how an experience might shape your future.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans for the future are still developing, but I’m grateful for the chance to explore different areas of pharmacy. Each experience I’ve had so far has helped me better understand my strengths and where I can make a meaningful impact as a future pharmacist.
What is a fun fact about you?
I love spending time at the beach, but I can’t stand when fish touch me in the water.
