Brief bio or Site description
Community Health of South Florida supports the underinsured and underserved population of Southern Dade County and Monroe County. With 80,000 visits in our 9 centers and 55 school-based nurses, we provide a compassionate service to our community. Immigration status and insurance are not barriers to our services. “Patient Care Comes First”
What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
Our student experience is very different. We expose our students to a lower socio-economic patient population. Just because a person is of a lower income does not mean that they do not deserve good care. We do not bar any patient from receiving care. Our founder, Doris Ison, had the philosophy that all lives mattered. Sometimes students need to realize that Pharmacy offers opportunities.
What is a fun fact about you or the site?
We have the best food of any rotation.
