HIPPE at Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside
Even though she is HIPPE student, with limited guidance, Sara was able to assist with many projects and patient care follow ups. Besides the required elements of this rotation, Sara helped our site with evaluation of MRSA swab for SSTI, review of proper disposal of Peridox (she had to contact JEA, MSDS, EPA and other regulatory bodies), reviewing pharmacy regulatory binders and update policies, provide guidance on appropriate action in case of environmental excusion in clean room, etc. Her projects will be instrumental in taking the next step within our organization.

What advice do you have for pharmacy students preparing for rotations?
Always be flexible and ready to help out with whatever tasks are needed each day!
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to apply for a PGY-1 residency.
What is a fun fact about you?
If I’m not studying, I’m training for a triathlon!
