Sarah displayed a high-level professionalism during her rotation and had no tardies or absences. Sarah showed a respectful and kind demeanor when interacting with healthcare professionals. Sarah’s final project was outstanding and meticulously well-organized, which shows her commitment to improving her knowledge as a student pharmacist. Sarah created an excel sheet covering a wide range of OTC medications with extensive notes regarding dosing, side effects, special population concerns and several other categories. I was highly impressed with the level of detail and effort she put into her assignment. Sarah utilized her knowledge she built over the course of her rotation to give accurate information when counseling patients and is well on her way to becoming a trusted member of the healthcare community. Amazing job!
What was your favorite part of this rotation?
My favorite part of my rotation at Publix Pharmacy was helping patients select OTC medications and counseling them about their prescriptions. I really enjoyed working through which medication would be the best fit for their needs. A few patients even returned later to thank me, saying they felt much better. It was incredibly rewarding!
What advice do you have for pharmacy students preparing for rotations?
Always keep a notebook handy to jot down new things you learn, advice from preceptors, and memorable patient interactions. Having these notes makes it easier to reflect on your growth, and they can be great examples to reference later during interviews or when building your CV/resume.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to pursue a general residency with the goal of specializing in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy. I’m particularly interested in areas such as diabetes management and women’s health, where I can provide direct patient care and make a meaningful impact.
What is a fun fact about you?
I love going to the beach and would go every day with my dog if I could!
