Orlando VA Medical Center
Sheetal Sharma, B.S. PharmD
The student had this to say about Dr. Sharma:
One of the most positive aspects of this practice experience was working with my preceptor, Dr. Sheetal Sharma, who exemplifies everything I hope to achieve as a future pharmacist. She is warm, personable, and truly dedicated to her students’ success. From the very start, she made me feel welcomed and supported, fostering an environment where I could freely learn and grow. What impressed me most was her genuine interest in tailoring the experience to my unique goals and aspirations. She took the time to understand what I hoped to gain from the rotation and thoughtfully created opportunities to align with those areas. Her encouragement, kindness, and unwavering commitment to my professional development have made this experience not only enriching but also truly memorable. As an alumna of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, she embodies the values and excellence that the program strives to instill in its students. Her mentorship has inspired me to pursue the same level of dedication and compassion in my own career. Additionally, her approach has motivated me to one day become a preceptor myself, so I can pass on the same guidance, support, encouragement, and inspiration to future students.

What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
My philosophy on educating students is to make learning an enjoyable and valuable experience. I also feel it is very important to treat our students with respect. On my rotation, I want students to learn what it means to be a part of a pharmacy team and we work on developing the interpersonal skills required to make them a successful team member in their future workplace setting.
