Brief bio or Site description

Dr. Ugomma Nwahiri is a Revenue Integrity Clinical Pharmacist at AdventHealth Orlando, where she has been since 2020. She brings more than 15 years of experience across clinical, hospital, retail, and long-term care settings. In her present role, she leads initiatives to strengthen billing compliance and advance medication safety. A proud 2010 Doctor of Pharmacy graduate of the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Pharmacy, Dr. Nwahiri went on to earn her MBA with a concentration in Project Management from Louisiana State University–Shreveport in 2022. She is passionate about education and mentorship, serving as the Hospital Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (HIPPE) Coordinator, where she partners with affiliated pharmacy schools to design immersive training programs that give students early, hands-on exposure to hospital pharmacy practice. She also serves as an Adjunct Instructor with Ultimate Medical Academy, guiding pharmacy technician students through online learning, mentorship, and professional development. A strong advocate for frontline staff engagement, Dr. Nwahiri is actively involved in Shared Governance at AdventHealth Orlando, where she currently serves as Chair of the Orlando Campus Pharmacy Unit Practice Council and as a member of the Quality, Safety & Outcomes Committee. In these roles, she helps shape policy, improve communication, and advance clinical practice standards. She is a licensed Consultant Pharmacist, Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), and a member of professional and community organizations including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

What is your or your sites philosophy on educating students and/or providing pharmacy services?
I believe students thrive when given early, hands-on exposure to the many roles pharmacists play in patient care. My goal is to create a welcoming, immersive learning environment where students can explore specialties that interest them, from critical care to informatics, while developing confidence in their skills. By combining real-world experiences with personalized mentorship, I strive to help students discover their path in pharmacy and understand the vital impact pharmacists have on the healthcare team.

 A fun fact about me is that I’m a proud twin mom #girlmom, which keeps life exciting and full of surprises!
